6. The «Radavita-HB» dietary supplement (information for patients)

     INTRODUCTION
     Analyzing the current situation in medical science and practice, one may come to a conclusion that the 21st century will be the century of environmental medicine and healthy life-style.
In recent years, many countries have formed a brand new philosophy of national health. According to this philosophy:
Everyone should aim at healthy life and be personally liable for the preservation and strengthening of his or her health;
The preferred direction of medical science and practice is to preserve a healthy person’s health, to prevent diseases, and to develop restorative medicine.

However, many acute and chronic diseases were characterized by a rapid increase in the morbidity rate at the end of the Second Millennium. Social development is currently accompanied by the epidemic of neuroses and environmental hazards. The entire system of negative factors causes the development of pathologically changed cells in organs. As a result, the damaged organs cannot function properly. Generally, an organ retains normal functioning for some time due to its functional backup. However, it fails as soon as it has exhausted its strength. This may cause various chronic inflammatory, dystrophic, or malignant diseases.

Under an environmental exposure, special emphasis should be placed on the development of ways to preserve and recuperate an individual’s stability. It is also essential to guarantee high efficiency and health levels.

Almost every country is currently seeking new efficient methods and practices to decrease the sickness rate. Due to some progress in pharmacology, more and more new highly-specialized drug compounds cure specific diseases and destroy disease activators. However, pharmacology rarely makes considerable achievements in fighting most of chronic illnesses. The situation is aggravated by the fact that modern drugs are synthesized compounds. Their structure and characteristics do not correspond to natural chemical compounds encoded in the human genetic apparatus to be consumed with food. Hence, these drugs are perceived by the human being as xenogenic. As a result, the intake of synthesized compounds brings about bodily defensive reactions followed by neutralizing and eliminating these compounds.

The above-mentioned contradiction puts patients to confusion because they cannot decide what medicament to choose, what doctor to consult, and what medical course to follow. The situation of uncertainty makes them either reject any method to maintain their health. Otherwise, they should let their souls and bodies into experiments without understanding much. People are also misled by various advertisements of slimming fast, removing recrement, eliminating lipids, exercise-free bodybuilding, resolving blastemas, and other “wonders.” These experiments usually cause disappointment. People begin to realize that they had been misled.

However, time has changed. At present, people do not believe in miraculous overseas drugs. Dietary supplements are often associated with a mala fide retailer or an incompetent physician offering a pacifier for a nice bit of money.
Having been disappointed in traditional medicine, some people turn to alternative treatment. Surprisingly enough, alternative treatment often means folk medicine practiced by our ancestors for thousands of years.

It is becoming more and more popular to turn to herbalists, healers, and nature for support. The popularity of alternative methods is related to their salient feature: they raise an organism’s role in its struggle for health. Herbs used in folk medicine do not disrupt an individual’s physiological systems. They do not translate these systems into the programmed evocation of pathologic focus depression. In turn, they stimulate defensive mechanisms (nocifensors) and strengthen an organism’s capacities to withstand an environmental exposure.

Currently, traditional medicine employs alternative treatment methods to cure many diseases. The role of folk medicine can be reappraised due to a better understanding of cell biochemistry and complicated phenomena of the interaction between tissues and organs.

From this point of view, some dietary supplements become:

  • the supportive tools of nocifensors;
  • the harmless substitute of many drugs;
  • the agents of choice in medical rehabilitation of many serious illnesses;
  • fail-safe protectors from the side effect of pharmacological products.

Due to such medicinal preparations, professional medicine has new opportunities to support health. Self-care can be practiced since natural medicine is available, harmless, and easy-to-use. Apart from generally accepted requirements (scientific verification and harmless use), such preparations should have special properties, stimulating nocifensors, facilitating immune systems to identify pathogenic microorganisms and damaged cells in time and in full measure, killing them and harmlessly eliminating nascent decay products out of the body.

Discovery of New Properties of Chlorophyll Compounds
     Many pharmacological companies are searching for the most efficient medicaments based on natural dietary supplements. Some of the most successful developments are medicaments that use traditionally known plants: the ginseng, eleuterococus, schizandra, etc. However, these agents bring only an invigorating effect and stimulate nonspecific host defense mechanisms. It is necessary to get a more selective, long-term, and adjustable effect not only in conjunction with defense mechanisms, but also in conjunction with pathologically changed cells of the body.

Therefore, Russian scientists paid special attention to chlorophyll and its derivatives. For the first time, miscible chlorophyll derivatives were used for medical purposes by Å. Snyder(USA) in 1942. Some time later, scientists started to use them to prevent and cure cardiovascular, metabolic, infectious, and atherosclerotic diseases. In 1986, scientists reported chlorophyll-type derivatives to be successful in curing malignant diseases.

In experiments in vitro, in which chlorophyll was produced from Spirulina platensis, a compound called Radachlorophyll-C was synthesized. It represents an active energetic chlorophyll element preserved in the active form according to a special patented technology. The use of high-tech phytogenous material processing resulted in a unique Radochlorophyll-C property. Radochlorophyll-C is similar to hemoglobin in terms of its structure and chemical structure. This allows Radochlorophyll-C to be ‘self’ in the body. It is not attacked by immune systems and nocifensors. Conversely, it functions together with them and stimulates their action.

Like hemoglobin, Radochlorophyll-C retains bound oxygen well. A unique property of the medicament is that it can identify xenogenic germs (antigens) and pathological autologous cells (autoantigens) as well as to accumulate in them. Having accumulated in cells, Radochlorophyll-C releases bound oxygen and changes it into the active form. Active oxygen gives rise to intense oxidation processes that exceed thresholds in pathologically changed cells. This results in their damage and necrocytosis. In addition, Radochlorophyll-C stimulates the regeneration of intact cells in new regions, increases the number of natural immune cells by 30% to 40%, and considerably enhances their activity for a long period of time (up to 6 months).

Due to the above-mentioned properties of Radochlorophyll-C, it yielded successful therapeutic results in the treatment of severe staphylococcia, bacillary carriage, trophic ulcer, and anabrosis. It also brought about bacterial growth suppression in maims, anaerobic bacteria, and enteromycosis. Besides, a considerable uptake of Radochlorophyll-C in blastema cells blocked the malignant growth and initiated its involution.

It is necessary to emphasize that the favorable effect of Radochlorophyll-C on tissues and functions of many organs, as well as on pathosis, was clinically verified at the Moscow Scientific-Research Institute of Hematology of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, at the clinics of Samara and Chelyabinsk medical schools, and at the N. N. Blokhin Moscow Cancer Centre of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.

Today, the Radochlorophyll-C compound is used to make various dosage bands and dietary supplements, such as well-known high-efficiency dietary supplement “PHOTOSTIM,” for example.

Structure and Features of “Radavita-HB” Dietary Supplement Basic Components

While developing an integrated dietary supplement based on phytopharmaceutical products, scientists assumed that its formula should contain components that would produce a cumulative and synergetic effect. However, they were faced with a problem that the medicament should identify pathological cells of different nature (such as phlogistic, dystrophic, and neoplastic), destroy them, and harmlessly eliminate decay products out of the body.

Bearing this aspect in mind, Russian scientists developed the dietary food supplement “Radavita-HB”. It consisted of a complex of natural ingredients and was intended to stimulate a wide range of nocifensors to preserve a human being’s health. This dietary food supplement contained Radochlorophyll-C and some other efficient phytopharmaceutical components.

Since Radochlorophyll-C is a very active compound, its pharmacological action results in the lysis of a large number of intermediate pathological cell metabolites, which have to be neutralized and eliminated. It is particularly important that one should tradeoff the neutralizing liver function, excretory kidney function, and gastrointestinal motility of diseased people. For this reason, Radochlorophyll-C is combined with the seeds of holy thistle (Silybum marianum), vitamin C, lactose, peppermint leaves, bottlebrush herbs, dandelion roots, and solid vitamin E.

Researchers at the Samara Medical Institute carried out clinical tests of this dietary supplement to discover that such a combination was the most efficient. Radochlorophyll-C destroyed pathologically changed cells, whereas the natural compounds of herbs and vitamins maintained the neutralizing hepatic function. They also initiated the process of cellular debris elimination through pacing the intestinal motility and excretory kidney function.

A brief characteristic of phytopharmaceutical components is included into the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement.

Thus, including Silybum marianum to “Radavita-HB” is provided by silymarin in its leaves. According to experiments carried out in Germany, silimarin blocks toxicant permeation to hepatic cells and eliminate other poisons. It is the only natural compound that is known today to protect hepatic cells and regenerate hepatic functions.

Except for hepatic detoxification properties, adding the holy thistle to “Radavita-HB” brings about lipolysis and protein compliment normalization. The holy thistle has a unique property which makes possible to use it as an antiallergic drug. It arrests the histamine (substance which causes allergies and headaches) elaboration process.

Its influence on overall health is an indirect effect of the holy thistle provided by the regeneration of the hepatic function. Numerous experiments established that the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement cures widespread diseases, such as an inveterate headache, depression, poor circulation, rooted lassitude, stomach upset, irritancy, fluctuations of mood, and lack of concentration and stamina.

Thus, adding the holy thistle to the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement potentiates the pharmacological effect of Radochlorophyll-C. One component causes the destruction of pathological cells, whereas another one initiates the active neutralization and elimination of decay products by the liver. To further potentiate the complex effect of “Radavita-HB,” some other phytogenic components were also added.

Due to the pharmacological action of menthol, flavonoids, as well as ursolic and oleanolic acids, a large number of trace substances (such as copper, manganese, strontium, and some others), which peppermint (Mentha piperita) comprises, have been used in the galenicals and tinctures for centuries. The peppermint reflectory improves blood circulation in the brain and cardiac bottles. As a spasmolysant, peppermint is prescribed when a person has spastic phenomena in the gastrointestinal tract, bile ducts, and pancreatic ducts. A peppermint tincture is used as an analgetic to treat neurodynia and toothaches. As an antiseptic, it is used to treat upper respiratory tract inflammations and stomatitis. Many integrated medicaments and phytopreparations are made of peppermint.

In the dietary supplement “Radavita-HB,” peppermint flavonoids make a contribution to the hepatoprotective effect of silimarin. They stimulate the bile-expelling liver function and the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract. Consequently, the excretory process of pathological cells (by Radochlorophyll-C) is considerably accelerated and simplified.

Adding the officinal dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) to ‘Radavita-HB” is provided by triterpene compounds, sterols, and flavonoids comprised in its roots. Numerous tanning agents, lactones, and monoterpene glycosides are also found in dandelion.

All these natural substances ensure the integrated effect of all the dietary supplement components. Dandelion roots provoke appetite, intensify gastric secretion, and are good cholagogues. Vitamins A, B, C, and E comprised in dandelion roots provide the antioxidant protection of the liver, pancreas, and bile cyst. Consequently, there is the potentiating and intensifying of hepatoprotective and cholagogic effect of the holy thistle and peppermint.

The adding of the bottlebrush herbs (Equisetum arvense) is also very important. They contain alkaloids, saponin, equisetonin, flavonoids, organic acids, fatty oil, volatile oil, vitamin C, carotene, many siliceous acid salts, bitter stuff, tanning agents, resins, and other salubrious compounds.

Bottlebrush improves the urine passage, possesses the blood-regenerating and anti-inflammatory properties, and initiates lead elimination. The siliceous acid and its salts are part of most of organic tissues. They influence ostein and collagen formation.

The adding of bottlebrush herbs to the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement is provided mainly by its diuretic properties. It accelerates the excretion process of the proteolysis products of pathologically changed cells and metabolic substances.

Vitamin C (Acidum ascorbinicum) comprised by “Radavita-HB” brings a strong invigorating effect on the body. Being one of the strongest antioxidants, vitamin C activates natural nocifensors, helps to cure many diseases. In “Radavita-HB,” the containing of vitamin C is 60 mg which is 85% of a daily dose.

The biologically active substances of phytopharmaceutical components of “Radavita-HB” accelerate an invigorating and tonic effect of vitamin C.

Vitamin E (Tocopheroli acetas) is a vital vitamin which influences the functioning of the whole body. According to the data obtained from the literature, vitamin E normalizes the blood pressure, improves the skin, strengthens the lung, cardiac and nervous tissues, consolidates blood vessel parietes, particularly capillary tubes, produces antibacterial and antioxidant effects.

In “Radavita-HB,” the containing of vitamin E is 6.0 mg which is 60% of a daily dose.

The combination of vitamin C, vitamin E, and biologically active components in herbal substances results in a strong invigorating effect for the whole body.
Lactose (milk sugar) is used in the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement to maintain lactic-acid bacteria in the body. They process the products of proteolysis eliminated by the bile in the gastrointestinal tract.

Practical Usage Guidelines
     Taking into consideration a wide range of components included in the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement, the developers recommend that it should be used for:

  • Chronic viral hepatitises and other hepatic diseases accompanied by the cholestasis syndrome, skin itch, and other signs of the inadequate liver functional activity;
  • Chronic pancreatitises, chronic cholecystitises, and the bile passage dyskinesias;
  • Strong inflammatory diseases (pneumonia, sepsis, HIV infection, and urinary tract infections);
  • Rheumatic diseases;
  • Oncological patients during the rehabilitation in the post-operation period, radial or polychemotherapy;
  • Patients with a burdened history (such as drug or alcohol addiction);
  • The immune system dysfunction which leads to the autoimmune diseases;
  • The liver kinesis deterioration and the motor-evacuative bowel function weakening;
  • Patients after ailments requiring body detoxification;

People whose professional activity is connected with the excessive exercise and psychological stress as well as the environmental exposure.

The feasibility of the above-mentioned recommendations was verified by the clinical trials of the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement. They were carried out at the Rheumatology-Oriented General Medicine Department of the Samara Medical Institute “Reaviz,” guided by Professor Y.S. Pimenov, the Head of the Department, Academician of the Academy of Medical and Technical Sciences, Doctor of Medical Science.

The clinical trials of the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement were carried out in connection with the following diseases: chronic hepatitis B and C, chronic pancreatitis, chronic pyelonephritis, severe pneumonias, including septic pneumonia with a burdened history (such as drug or alcohol addiction), severe

systemic lupus erythematosus with the multiple organ damage and high activity, incipient infective endocarditis of the prosthetic valves, pollen fever, HIV infection associated with early drug taking, for patients operated after brain tumors, radial and polychemotherapy.

  • The results of the trials verified that the usage of the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement:
  • improves overall health, alleviates the subjective sensations of a disease, improves his or her mood, eliminates pain sensations;
  • normalizes the blood indices of patients with the above-mentioned pathology to a greater extent as compared to those who had a conventional medical treatment;
  • accelerates the recovering and regenerating processes of practically all the patients as compared to the control group undergone a conventional medical treatment;
  • activates the immune systems of all the patients observed; this considerably shortens the treatment term and improves the rehabilitation period guides.

However, the results of the trials showed that the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement should be used under the physician’s supervision. This is related to the fact that there can occasionally be allergic reactions to some of the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement components, which is though characteristic of any drug compound. In some cases the “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement may cause temporary recrudescence of an existing chronic disease. It is associated with the massive pathological cell damage and decay product release into blood. Such a situation may require a timely consultation of the attending physician, in order to clarify the situation, to calm down the patient, and to adjust the dosage regimen.

Administration Procedure and Recommended Dosage
  • As a prophylactic drug for virtually healthy people, a person should take 1 capsule daily after meals during one month;
  • As a part of multiple treatment of simple forms of the chronic diseases, a person should take 1 capsule twice or thrice a day during the treatment course (during up to 30 days);
  • In more serious cases, a person should take up to 6 capsules a day (2 capsules a time) during 20 days.

Conclusion
      A person’s health is such a category which, though partly depends on genetics, becomes a credit for those who lead a healthy life. As it has been already mentioned, a large number of physical, chemical, biological, and psychological factors weigh the scales on the side of the “civilization diseases” development. Medical care and pharmacological support in the greater part of Russia is far from being perfect nowadays. Free public medical care is impossible under such conditions.

People form two different psychological attitudes toward their health. Some prefer having up-to-the-minute medical aid, whereas the others prefer taking care of their health in advance. Today, the nonmedicament therapy methods used by individuals without the physician’s help become a reality.

“People have the right and duty to take part individually and collectively in their health protection planning and to implement it practically.” This thesis, which sounded at the latest session of the World Health Organization members, can form the basis for a habit to take care and to protect one’s health.

Diseases will hardly disappear in the near future. But even today, there is already quite a practicable aim: a person should not suffer from a disease; or, if someone falls ill, he or she should recover as soon as possible.

We consider the creation of a series “IMMUNORESOURCE” combining the latest achievements of modern biochemistry and medicine developed by the Russian scientists a considerable contribution to the public welfare, disease prevention and rehabilitation.

As one may know, good health is above wealth. However, we can buy remedies to support and to strengthen it.

The “Radavita-HB” dietary supplement was approved by the Scientific Council of the Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. All the requisite documents sanctioning the usage of the dietary supplement in medical and preventive treatment facilities, as well as for free use, were verified by the Chief State Health Inspector of Russian Federation and by the City Centre of Sanitation-and-Epidemiological Control.
