4. The «Photostim» biologically active complex

Do you know that cancer attacks one human being in the world every 16 seconds? Moreover, even in such a developed country as the USA no powerful cure or treatment of this disease is available. Do you know that among causes that increase the risk of getting attacked by cancer are:

  • stresses;
  • malnutrition;
  • environmental pollution;
  • overwork;
  • age-related disimmunity;
  • use of cellular phones.
It is well-known that prevention is better than treatment. There is NO panacea for cancer. But it is possible to prevent an organism from the disease or enhance its ability to resist it. Photostim, a remedial complex, is the result of the latest high technologies. It is a great step of medicine into the 3rd millennium.


As an active principle, Photostim contains a set of substances, i.e., chlorophyll derivatives that are produced from plant materials using a specific unique technology.
The Photostim complex is aimed at:

  • oncological patients with malignant tumors at various stages;
  • patients whose benignant dermatoses (moles/birthmarks, warts, papillomas) and precancer (leukoplakias, dysplastic foci) run a risk of cancerating;
  • elderly people in order to enhance an organism's resistance to oncological diseases;
  • patients who have been exposed to serious surgical, radiation, or chemotherapeutic* treatment to improve their rehabilitation;
  • besides, the complex is recommended to people with weakened immunity.
* - the systematic application of cytostatics is known to treat 5% only of those with serious tumors.

Composition
     Photostim comes in 100-ml vials in the form of syrup at a concentration of 0.02% and 0.04%. One-hundred-milligram-vials are supplied in packs with instructions enclosed. Boxes of 10 vials are provided with 10 instructions per box.

Indications
     There are a number of indications to Photostim application:

  • humoral immunity inefficiency which manifests itself in disposition to bacterial and virus infections.
Photostim helps those who have any kind of pathogenic microflora in the body to sufficiently suppress it and reduce it by a factor of 1.5 to 2. This process also leads to the reduction of an abnormally high level of leucocytes in blood to a normal rate.
  • cellular immunity inefficiency.
The stimulation of cellular immunity is aimed at the enhancement of immune reactions against tumor, dysplastic (abnormal) cells. Photostim helps to fight virus-affected cells and eliminate the products of necrosis and tissuelysis.
  • malignant tumors.

Photostim influences the proliferative differentiation of tumor cells, stimulates nonspecific immunity and weakens the toxic effect of radiation and chemotherapy.

Mechanism of Action
     Photostim enhances humoral immunity due to the growth of lymphocyte population in 60 to 70% of cases and due to the growth of blood neutrophil population in 30 to 40% of cases.

The cellular immunity is stimulated due to the growth of the absolute quantity of phagocytes. In 35% of cases, it is also stimulated due to the growing activity of phagocytes and NK cells. Natural killers are activated under the influence of dysplastic (abnormal) cells, bacteria, their toxins, or metabolic products. As a result, apoptosis (scheduled cell death) develops in target cells, and cells collapse. In 50% of oncological cases, there is a weakening of the cytotoxic effect of these cells on progenitors of cancerous cells.


On the whole, Photostim specifically stimulates the proliferation of B cell clones of the bone marrow and the production of the thymus gland.
The effect produced by Photostim on malignant tumors is based on the interference with pathophysiological mechanisms of tumor growth:

  • influence on the damaged process of cell growth regulation;
  • influence on the interconnection between a tumor process and a body as a whole.
Photostim stimulates the formation of antibodies to tumor cells, activates the regeneration of invaded tissues, and thus, prolongs life expectancy (or prevents its shortening) and considerably improves oncological patients' life. Besides, in most cases, it impedes the growth of a primary tumor and prevents the development of metastases. Photostim does not only hinder the growth of tumors or cause their destruction, enhance and activate an organism's available defense mechanisms. It also destroys progenitors of cancerous cells, i.e., dysplastic (abnormal) cells. Speaking figuratively, Photostim is "a reconnaissance and sabotage group" whose aim is to detect an enemy, i.e., cells different from the healthy ones, to transmit the information to the center (to the brain), and to perform coordinated operations to destroy them.

Clinical Studies
     Clinical studies showed that Photostim:

  • stimulates the growth of lymphocyte population in 60 to 70% of cases and the population of blood neutrophils in 30 to 40% of cases;
  • stimulates both the growth of the absolute quantity of phagocytes and the growing activity of phagocytes in 35% of cases;
  • considerably hinders the growth of malignant tumors;
  • decreases the tumor size;
  • weakens the formation of metastases, right down to their complete prevention;
  • weakens the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy;
  • prolongs life expectancy;
  • improves the quality of life.

Dosage and Application
     The dose of Photostim should range from 2.0 to 4.0 mg per day within a month before a radical treatment of a tumor (radiation, chemo- or photodynamic therapy or surgery) and from 1.0 to 2.0 mg per day for 1 to 3 months after such a radical treatment with a subsequent break for not less than 3 months. This corresponds to taking 1 or 2 teaspoons of an 0.02% or 0.04% Photostim syrup every day on an empty stomach.

Precautions
     It is recommended that a person should not exceed the specified dosage of Photostim. Otherwise, his or her eyes may become hypersensitive to bright light (especially, to sunlight).
No experiments have been carried out during pregnancy. Photostim, like any other biostimulants, should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the early 3 months of pregnancy, unless it is doubtless that the expected benefit for a mother stands higher than the potential (not studied) risk of her expected child.

Side Effects
     Photostim produces no allergenic, teratogenic, or mutagenic effect. Eyes and skin may become hypersensitive to daylight. In this case, one should use sunglasses or stop taking the compound. It is possible to resume its application at reduced doses after not less than 1 month.

Overdosage
     Currently, there is not much information about Photostim overdosage. Experiments on animals showed that LD10 totals 120 mg per kg, which exceeds the recommended dosage by a factor of 2,000 to 8,000.

Storage Conditions
     Photostim should be kept in a cool (from 0 to +8°C) dark place.
