7. The "Olympus CX-41" dark-field microscope
Olympus СХ-41 is a powerful universal microscope designed for laboratory investigations.
Olympus СХ-41 embodies the modular construction principle of binocular and trinocular microscopes.
It provides a magnification range of 20x to 1250x. The microscopic optics is set to infinity.
The inbuilt illuminator is based on a 30-W halogen bulb light source. It is feasible to attach phase-contrast
and dark-field condensers, a fluorescence box, polarizers, as well as non-immersion and water-immersion lenses.
One can also perform photo and video documentation.
The quintuple revolving nosepiece of the Olympus СХ-41 microscope has an additional port where a polarizer and sample
wafers can be placed. Any set of objectives, various types of condensers and observation body-tubes may come in the complete
set of the device. The fluoresce minator is integrated into the frame of the microscope. It makes the common magnification
remain unchangeable. It also provides a combined illumination with transmitted and reflected light.
The trinocular observation tube of the Olympus СХ-41 microscope is provided with a beam-splitting plate.
The light transmittance capacity of the beam-splitting plate is 50:50. A system of film-type photoregistration, a digital camera,
or a video camera can be attached to the trinocular tube.
A phase contrast mode is beneficial when one works with low contrast compounds. A rapid changeover from the phase contrast mode
to the bright-field or fluorescence one is also of great use.
A dark-field mode provides the highest contrast when one works with nontransparent objects.
A bright-field mode provides a sharp image in all feasible magnifications; it also enables illuminator temperature color adjustment.
A polarization mode is used in medicine, biology, and material sciences. In this case, the microscope can be used in combination with compensators.
Live Blood Drop Examination Using the Dark-Field Microscope
Live blood drop examination under the dark-field microscope is an alternative and exclusive way
of health diagnosis. Unless the human being is not exhausted, distressed or slagged, he or she can resist microbes living in it.
Cells coexist "peacefully" together with a large number of germs fighting against each other. However, natural sanitary forces
that maintain the balance in the body are not endless. They may be damaged by pressure and overstrain. As a result, the harmony
between the acid-base balance, salt and vitamin level, digestive and cathartic organs functioning is upset.
Blood examination can provide information on the organism's state and predisposition toward some diseases.
It is the internal environment of the body through which the metabolism is performed, oxygen gets into cells, and the products
of their activity (toxins) are eliminated out of cells. Recently, scientists have come to a conclusion that more reliable results
can be provided through the quality (not quantity) examination of formed elements of blood and plasma.
Blood examination makes it possible to determine the state, aggregation, sludge, and plasma mobility of red blood cells.
An analysis of thrombocytes, lymphocytes, and leucocytes can show the immune system's activity, the individual's capability to
self-recovery, and pathological blood changes that cause many diseases. Such an examination of blood cells and plasma enables
one to trace various health deviations and/or predisposition toward new diseases.
Blood examination makes it possible to diagnose a wide range of diseases and metabolic conditions (such as lipid, protein,
carbohydrate, phosphor, and calcium metabolisms). These are dependent on the pancreas and liver functioning. An analysis of this
kind reveals changes that may cause anemia, atherosclerosis, gout, and malignant tumors. The immune state and gastric dysbacteriosis
can also be diagnosed through blood examination.
